Upstate professors gear up for rare ‘Super Blue Blood Moon’
Furman physics professor David Moffett was master of ceremonies at Paladin Stadium during the total solar eclipse last August. Now, in the waning days of January, he spoke to a Fox Carolina reporter about the lunar “trifecta” where a blue moon, supermoon and blood moon happen all at once. About the rare convergence, Moffett said, “The last time it happened over the United States was about 150 years ago.” To see video footage of the celestial spectacle from multiple telescopes, visit this link.
