Furman University has closed its campus for Wednesday, Jan. 17. All day and evening classes and other activities are canceled due to snow and freezing temperatures in the area.

The Dining Hall will remain open until 7 p.m. for students. All other dining options on campus are closed. Students should use caution while walking on campus.

The Physical Activities Center is open until 9:45 p.m. tonight. The James B. Duke Library is closed anytime the university is closed.

The Furman women’s basketball game scheduled for Wednesday night with East Tennessee State has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. as part of a doubleheader. The men’s team will play ETSU following the women’s game.

Employees should not report to campus on Wednesday unless directed otherwise by supervisors.

The university will continue to monitor the weather throughout the evening and provide an update late tonight.

Students, faculty and staff will be notified by text and email as schedule changes are needed. Updates will also be provided online at news.furman.edu and furman.edu as well as on Furman’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
