Napier named head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette

Furman alum Billy Napier has been named head football coach at University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Napier was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection as the starting quarterback at Furman, and the Paladins won two league championships during his career (1998-2002). In 2001, his junior season, he led the team to the Division I-AA national championship game, losing to Montana. Napier is married to the former Ali Gunn, a 2003 Furman graduate.
