Furman history professor Courtney Tollison co-curated “Over Here, Over There: Greenville in the Great War,” an exhibition on display in the spring of 2017 at the University’s James B. Duke Library. The exhibition, which was curated by Tollison and Furman students and alumni, examined World War I’s (1914-1918) impact on the Greenville community as well as the contributions of the area to the war effort, and it assessed the mixed legacy of progress stemming from the war years. Tollison spoke about the inspiration for the exhibition with historian Walter Edgar during his show, “Walter Edgar’s Journal,” airing on South Carolina Public Radio.
