You can go home again

The weather was perfect and the Paladin football team did exactly what it was supposed to do as more than 3,000 Furman alums returned to campus this past weekend for Homecoming.

In addition to a well-attended pep rally and bonfire on Friday night, the football team defeated Mercer, 28-21, which gave the Paladins five straight wins and gave the 8,000 or so fans in attendance something to cheer about. But that wasn’t all. There was a carnival sponsored by the Student Alumni Council and Student Activities Board, a BBQ lunch on the mall, a number of departments that hosted drop-ins for students and alums, and some serious float construction.
