Furman getting major league advice from Leo Mazzone

Paladin pitching is getting the benefit of MLB coaching through the expertise of Leo Mazzone who was tapped by Paladin head coach Brett Harker as special adviser to the team. As reported in The Greenville News, Mazzone is best known as pitching coach for Atlanta from 1990-2005, when the Braves won their division 14 times, the National League five times and the World Series once. About Mazzone Harker said, “He’s incredible. He doesn’t directly coach our pitchers, but he coaches me on how to coach our pitchers.” MLB Hall of Famer Tom Glavine also spoke about how Mazzone impacted his career at the Upstate Diamond Classic held Feb. 8.
