Mary-Mitchell Campbell to be Honored

Transport Group Theatre Company will honor Drama Desk Award-nominated orchestrator and music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell with the Transporting American Theatre Award at its annual gala, set for February 6, 2017, at the Times Center in New York City. Campbell, a 1996 Furman University graduate, has prepared orchestrations for Sweet Charity, and musical direction for Kristin Chenoweth: My Love Letter to Broadway. She has also lent music direction and orchestrations to Tuck Everlasting, Finding Neverland, Company (Drama Desk Award win for Orchestrations), and Allegro (Drama Desk Award nomination for Orchestrations) among many others. Also to Campbell’s credit are numerous philanthropic efforts including her founding of ASTEP-Artists Striving to End Poverty. Performers for the star-studded gala in February include Chenoweth, Jonathan Groff, Tituss Burgess, Debra Monk, and Raúl Esparza. Read more in a story published in TheaterMania.com.
