Christmas With the Chorale and an Assist from Furman

One hundred fifty singers and the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra will convene 7:30 p.m., Dec. 9 in McAlister Auditorium to present “Christmas With the Chorale,” a much anticipated holiday tradition since 1983.  Furman music faculty member Thomas Joiner and director of the HSO will team with former faculty member and Greenville Chorale director Bingham Vick for the concert, which features favorite Christmas carols as well as Hanukkah selections and Russian Orthodox music. In a preview for the event, Paul Hyde of The Greeenville News spoke to Vick who said,  “One of the great joys of choral music, especially when performed with orchestra, is that even well-known songs can take on an exciting and broadly entertaining quality … The Hendersonville Orchestra is always full of energy and thrilling sounds in this collaboration.”
