A Plea for Common Ground and Partnership

More than 100 college and university presidents, including Furman president Elizabeth Davis, signed a joint letter to President-elect Donald Trump on Friday urging him to “condemn and work to prevent the harassment, hate and acts of violence that are being perpetrated across our nation…” The letter appeared in the Nov. 18 issue of Inside Higher Ed. According to the publication, the vast majority of those who signed the letter lead private institutions, and liberal arts college presidents make up most of the signers.
