An Ambitious Campus Project

Furman’s new $1.7 million solar farm is expected to reduce the university’s electricity costs by up to 5 percent and greenhouse gas emissions by 3 percent. It will also bring the university’s solar power production to the maximum allowed under state law. South Carolina Public Radio was on campus recently to learn more about the ambitious project that is expected to be completed by early 2017.
