Making Room at Our Table in a Global Community

News of the wrongful arrest of United Arab Emirates businessman Ahmed Al Menhali at an Ohio hotel in June coupled with the July terrorist attack at a bakery in Dhaka, Bangladesh prompted Furman professor Lisa Knight to write a commentary for The Huffington Post.  Dr. Knight, who teaches in the departments of Asian Studies and Religion at Furman, recounted the time she and her husband lived in Dhaka.  But that remembrance produced “quite a different narrative, one of intersecting paths, vulnerability, and profound kindness.”
