Furman alums receive principal appointments

Three Furman alumni and one Furman graduate student have received promotions to principalships in Greenville County Schools. All three appointments are effective July 1, 2016.

Brian Williams, assistant principal at Varennes Elementary School in Anderson District 5, has been named principal of Monaview Elementary School in Greenville. He is enrolled in the Ed.S. program in Educational Leadership at Furman and will complete his program in May 2017.

Justin Ludley has been named principal of Greer High School. He currently serves as assistant principal of Southside High School and formerly worked as a mathematics teacher and coach at Greer High. He earned his master’s degree in education with a concentration in school leadership in 2011 from Furman and is pursuing his Ed.S. degree at Furman.

Brett Vaughn returns to Stone Academy where she previously served as instructional coach to take the role of principal. She is currently serving as assistant principal at Roebuck Elementary School in Spartanburg District 6. She earned her master’s degree from Furman in 2003 and an Ed.S. in 2014.

Nicky Andrews, currently principal at Greenbrier Elementary School, has been promoted to principal at Greenville Middle Academy. She received her master’s degree with a concentration in school leadership from Furman in 2002.
