Bringing Art to North Main

People in the North Main community of Greenville have likely noticed that new artwork is showing up all across the city. The Stone Academy school just finished its third installment in a series of public murals in the area, and this time around they had some help from Furman students.  “I knew Stone Academy was doing this mural thing,” said Ross McClain, chair of Furman’s Art Department.  “I live in this neighborhood and my kids go to Stone. I wanted to figure out some way we could connect.” As noted in a Greenville News article, the connection came through a May Experience class that McClain taught this spring—“Art and Community Engagement.”
