Furman makes strong impact among community leaders
In March, The Greenville News honored 30 extraordinary leaders in the community. Winners in 10 categories were then selected by the newspaper’s readers. Furman health sciences professor Alicia Powers, Ph.D., was the top vote getter in the area of “Health Care.” In addition, three Furman alums were named as winners in their respective categories—Rodney Johnson (Education), Dan Weidenbenner (Sustainability, Agriculture and the Environment) and Cal Hurst (Law and Finance).
