Furman theatre alumna and students receive SETC honors

Haley Brown ’17, Maranda DeBusk ’13 and Taylor Jensen ’18 represented Furman University well at the recent Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) annual undergraduate and graduate student competition.

Brown’s lighting design of Durang/Durang, presented at the Furman Playhouse in 2015, took home first place in the undergraduate competition. This summer, she’ll serve as Assistant Lighting Designer for Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, Mass.

DeBusk’s lighting design of Mr. Burns a Post-Electric Play presented at the Clarence Brown Theatre in 2015 took home second place in the SETC annual graduate competition. She is currently a second year MFA candidate at the University of Tennessee.

Jensen’s lighting design of The Pillowman for the Order of Furman Theatre in 2015 took home third place in the SETC annual undergraduate competition. This summer, he’ll serve as an electrician at Porthouse Theatre at Kent State University in Ohio.
