In celebration of National Poetry Month, Furman will present a reading of contemporary American poetry by the winner and four finalists of the 2012 South Carolina Poetry Archives Book Prize. Widely-published poets Warren Slesinger, Phebe Davidson, Skip Eisiminger, and Ed Madden will read exerpts from their 2012 Book Prize submissions. Gil Allen, poet and Furman professor of English, will provide a brief introduction for each poet. The reading will be held at 4:30 p.m., April 17, in the Pitts Room of the James B. Duke Library.
