Surgeon Dr. James Andrews to speak
GREENVILLE, S.C.—Dr. James Andrews, a world-renowned orthopedic surgeon who has operated on many of the greatest athletes in sports, will speak at the annual fundraiser for the Furman University baseball team on Thursday, Feb. 14 at the TD Convention Center.
The annual Upstate Diamond Classic begins at 7 p.m., and will be preceded by a private reception at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for the 16th annual Upstate Diamond Classic are $100 per person, which includes dinner. To attend both the dinner and the reception, tickets are $120. A table for 10 can be purchased for $800, which includes two tickets to the reception.

Dr. Andrews’s patients over the years have included Jack Nicklaus, Tommy John, Michael Jordan, Roger Clemens, Troy Aikman and Brett Favre. He performed the knee surgery that allowed Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to return to action in 2012 and rush for more than 2,000 yards. In January, he also performed reconstructive knee surgery on Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. The most sought-after surgeon in his profession, Andrews is a founding member of the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala.
