High Noon: “The Weight of Mercy”

The Rev. Deb Richardson-Moore, pastor of the Triune Mercy Center, will speak about ministering to the homeless in Greenville and how she came to write about a book about those experiences when she delivers the High Noon lecture Wednesday, March 13 at the Upcountry History Museum/Furman.

Her talk, “The Weight of Mercy,” begins at noon. The lecture is free, and people are welcome to bring their lunch to the talk.

The Triune Mercy Center is a mission church that ministers alongside Greenville’s homeless. Richardson-Moore will be speaking about the events that gave rise to her recently published book, The Weight of Mercy, a gritty and unflinching look at ministry to a sometimes volatile population.

Before becoming pastor of the Triune Mercy Center, Richardson-Moore spent 27 years as an award-winning reporter for The Greenville News. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University and Erskine Theological Seminary.

This is the final lecture of the winter/spring schedule.  The series will begin again in the fall.

The Upcountry History Museum/Furman University is located at 540 Buncombe Street on Heritage Green in downtown Greenville.
