Student photography to be featured at weekend conference

The third annual Click646 Photography Conference will be held in Greenwood, South Carolina this weekend and will feature work from several of Furman’s photography students.
Eleven schools from across South Carolina were invited to submit the best work of their students to be featured in the Scholastic Invitational exhibit. In addition to Furman, other participating schools include Clemson University, the University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, and Winthrop University.
Furman Students Kiera Kuepfer ’11, Smedes Scovil ’12, Catherine Pate ’12, Sarah Caldwell ’12, and Sarah Phillips ’13 all have photographs entered into this year’s contest. Photos were submitted in black and white or color, and either film or digital format.
Art Professor Terri Bright will also have two photographs entered in the Faculty division of the Invitational.
In addition to the student and faculty exhibits, the event will also include workshops, portfolio reviews, food, and music. Keynote speaker Keith Carter, an internationally recognized photographer and educator, will present at the Greenwood Community Theatre at 8 p.m.
The event opens 6-11 p.m. Friday at the Greenwood Museum and continues Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission to the Gallery is free and open to the public.
