Prep standouts Carlie Couch, Dougie Dingess and Delaney Sheehan are set to join the Furman women’s soccer program in the fall of 2013, it was announced by Paladin head coach Andrew Burr on Wednesday.

“We are excited about our 2013 class as they will represent Furman well both on and off the field,” said Burr. “We had a successful 2012 season and this new group will only strengthen us for next fall.”

Couch, who has netted 100 goals in her first three seasons for Tift County High School, was named to the 2012 Georgia High School All-Star team as a junior and propelled club side SSA Central ’94 Elite to the 2012 Georgia State Cup. The speedy forward is a three-time Region 1-AAAAA selection.

Dingess, the sister of Furman football wide receiver David Dingess, led Ensworth High School to four consecutive state playoff appearances while ranking second on her team in both goals and assists. The Nashville, Tenn., native helped the Clearwater Chargers to the Disney Showcase Premier Division title and a sixth place finish in Region III this past season.

Sheehan, a midfielder and four-star rated recruit by Top Drawer Soccer, garnered 2011 and 2012 NSCAA All-America honors. Following her junior season in 2012, the Mandeville, La., native was named ESPN Rise Gatorade and NSCAA Louisiana Player of the Year.

The 2013 Paladins are set to return 10 starters from a squad that posted a 16-3-3 overall record, 7-2-2 Southern Conference mark and advanced to the league tournament championship match in 2012.
