Former Furman women’s golfer Stefanie Kenoyer is one of 12 competitors who will appear on Golf Channel’s Big Break reality competition this May, it was announced on Tuesday.

“Big Break Mexico” will premier on the Golf Channel at 9 p.m. on May 13. The show will feature 12 professional golfers, six men and six women, pursuing their dreams of playing on either the PGA or LPGA Tour. The 12-member cast will compete in various golf-related skills challenges at the Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf and Spa Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. In addition to cash and prizes, the winner receives an exemption to compete on the LPGA Tour at the 2013 Lorena Ochoa Invitational or on the PGA Tour at the 2013 OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

Kenoyer, who graduated from Furman in 2011 with a degree in political science, is in her second full season as a member of the Symetra Tour. She played in 15 tour events last season and made seven cuts. Kenoyer led the Paladins to a pair of Southern Conference titles, three NCAA regional berths and a trip in the 2008 NCAA Championship. A four-time All-Southern Conference pick, she captured 2008 and 2009 SoCon individual medalist honors while earning SoCon Player of the Year accolades in 2009 and 2010.

The Lighthouse Point, Fla., native was encouraged to tryout for the Big Break by former Paladin standout Sara Sargent, who competed in “Big Break VI: Trump National” before earning her LPGA Tour card.
