Nelsen quoted in USA Today about Paris attacks, study away

shutterstock_339277685Recent Paris terror attacks have refocused attention on emergency plans as they relate to study away programs. Furman Political Science professor Brent Nelsen says pieces of an emergency plan came together after 9/11, “ … but you tend to drift if something hasn’t happened in a while.” At the behest of university officials, Furman students studying in Brussels came home early in the wake of the attacks and elevated threat levels.
