Furman University will team up with alumni, parents and friends from around the world on Tuesday, April 28 to celebrate all things Furman.

April 28 is the last day of classes for students and “Dins Day” will be a 24-hour celebration where all members of the Furman community are encouraged to wear purple, broadcast their Paladin Pride through social media (using #DinsDay) and help raise money to support the university’s future students.

“We wanted to bring all of Furman together to celebrate our students on their last day of class and to increase annual philanthropic support of the University,” said Justin Rourk ‘14, Associate Director of Donor Marketing and Annual Giving at Furman and coordinator of the event.  “In addition to wearing purple, we are asking folks to amplify their Paladin Pride by saturating social media with posts about their favorite Furman experiences and memories.”

“Dins Day” is modeled after similar 24-hour spirit and fundraising blitzes taking place at liberal arts universities around the country. Furman is focusing on participation in the campaign and hopes to encourage financial gifts of all sizes through a partnership with generous donors who will provide challenge gift incentives.

More details about the day’s goals, incentives and festivities will be revealed on the Dins Day homepage at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28.
