Off to a successful start

Furman University’s Center for Corporate and Professional Development has announced that the inaugural class of the Women’s Leadership Institute is off to a highly successful start after beginning its work on campus in January.

The Leadership Class of 2015 consists of 34 members who were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants. The class includes leaders from diverse backgrounds in corporations, law, governmental agencies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations.

The conference sessions, which take place from January to April, feature expert speakers and corporate educators addressing real world challenges and creative opportunities in business environments.  All sessions are held at the Younts Center on the Furman campus.

The Women’s Leadership Institute of Furman is designed for women who have demonstrated successful leadership, community involvement and a desire to help others. It brings together a unique and powerful blend of knowledge shared by accomplished business leaders and experts from the academic community.

The purpose of the Institute is to provide participants with insights and ideas that are essential for navigating the increasingly competitive business world and learning the leadership skills of tomorrow. It also provides participants with an advantage in today’s global environment while enhancing their appreciation for community and self.
