FSO presents concert Oct. 17

thomas joiner, portrait, sizedThe Furman Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the season Friday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium on the Furman University campus.

Part of the Furman Music Department’s Sound Quality Concert Series, the performance is conducted by Furman Professor of Violin Dr. Thomas Joiner. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. The concert is part of Furman’s Cultural Life Program.

Dr. Joiner will lead nearly 70 Furman students in these works:

Violin Concerto in F minor, Op. 8 No. 4, “Winter” from The Four Seasons, Antonio Vivaldi

Music for the Royal Fireworks, George Frideric Handel

Symphony No. 99 in E flat major, Franz Joseph Haydn

Ballet Music from Faust, Charles Gounod
