Interview with President Davis to air Oct. 6 on statewide radio program

An interview with Furman University president Elizabeth Davis will air statewide on the “Your Day” radio program Monday, Oct. 6.  The one-hour program airs on the South Carolina ETV Radio network from noon to 1 p.m.

The interview with Dr. Davis is conducted by Angela Halfacre, Professor of Political Science and Earth and Environmental Sciences at Furman and director of the university’s Shi Center for Sustainability.

The “Your Day” program is produced by Clemson Broadcast Productions and is broadcast statewide on South Carolina ETV Radio from noon to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Davis became Furman’s 12th President on July 1.  She came to Furman from Baylor University in Texas, where she was Executive Vice President and Provost.

Her other administrative roles over a 22-year career at Baylor included serving as Vice Provost for Financial and Academic Administration, and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Business Programs.  As an accounting professor, she received the Hankamer School of Business Teaching Excellence Award and the Mortar Board Circle of Achievement Award.

Davis received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor in 1984 and earned her Ph.D. from Duke University in 1992.
