Organist Ahreum Han Congdon

The Furman University Music Department has announced its Sound Quality Series of concerts for the 2014-2015 season.

The Sound Quality Concert Series is open to the public. It is sponsored by the Furman Music Department and Partners in the Arts. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. Season tickets are available.

Opening the season is young organ virtuoso Ahreum Han Congdon who will perform 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15 in Daniel Memorial Chapel on the Furman University campus.

Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Ahreum began her organ studies as a high school student here in Greenville with Ed Dunbar at Bob Jones University. A featured recitalist at the 2012 National convention of the American Guild of Organists in Nashville, Tenn., Ahreum has appeared as both a solo recitalist and as a concerto soloist throughout the United States and abroad. A reception follows her performance.
