Paladins to open at UGa Saturday

Trent Pannell, Turner Morches, Richard Budd and Derek Jones are seniors on the Furman Team. 

The Furman Rugby team will launch the fall season Saturday with contests against the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech.

The team, coming off third-place finishes in both 15s and 7s last year in the 12-member Southern Rugby Conference, lost only two starters to graduation. The squad is composed 8 freshmen, 8 sophomores, 5 juniors and 4 seniors.

The University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, both Division II schools, will compete in the first contest at 1 p.m. The Paladins will play the UGa and Georgia Tech b sides at 2:45 and 3:30 p.m. The contests will be held at the UGA Club Sports Complex at 2435 South Milledge Avenue.
