Furman gets high marks for teacher preparation
Furman is among the best universities in the nation for preparing new middle and high school teachers for the classroom, according to a study by the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ). The university was ranked fifth in the nation for its secondary education programs. The Post and Courier in Charleston reported on the rankings, which are part of the council’s 2014 Teacher Prep Review. According to the NCTQ, the goal of the review is to help prospective teachers know where to go to receive the best preparation and training.
