Furman students assist with taxing time of year

With tax season in full swing, offers for tax preparation services have sprung up everywhere. That includes the United Way of Greenville County, which is offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to families who make $52,000 or less annually. Sandra Roberson, an accounting professor at Furman, requires her students to volunteer for the VITA program at least one spring as part of their class participation. The Greenville Journal reported on the program and interviewed Furman senior Makenzie Beam for the article.
