Calculating the madness of March

This week, millions of people have filled out NCAA Tournament brackets in hopes of winning anything from a billion bucks courtesy of Warren Buffett to office bragging rights. But very few likely did as much research as Furman math professors Liz Bouzarth, John Harris and Kevin Hutson, who crunched college basketball numbers this season as part of an ESPN project called “Giant Killers.” The Greenville News wrote about the March Madness research done by the professors, and which teams the professors think may—and may not—be hanging around for a while.
