Furman University is listed among the top 10 music schools in the nation, according to a Dec. 15 post on BostInno, an online news site and community publishing platform based in Boston.

In the posting by StudentUniverse, Furman was ranked No. 7 among the top 10 music schools. The listing included The Juilliard School (1), Yale University (3), Oberlin College (8) and Vanderbilt University (10).

In addition to offering degree programs for aspiring performers, composers and music teachers, Furman provides students with one-on-one instruction, world-class performance facilities and studies in a broad range of musical genres. The university has a full, undergraduate symphony orchestra, and the music program has produced many noted graduates, including Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart.
