A student’s self-discovery
It took a while for Judy Gantzer, an international student from Mumbai, India, to fully appreciate the benefits of a liberal arts education, but after two years at Furman she has come to sing its praises. “My liberal arts education has not only given me an opportunity to explore different options,” she writes in a piece for The Hindu, “but has also enabled me to hone the skills necessary for an ever changing world and economy. It has helped me discover myself.”
After intending to major in biology, Gantzer changed paths and is now a double major in anthropology and political science. She is scheduled to graduate in 2015.
