Who are the real All-Stars?

In just a few days, baseball fans will be treated to the annual mid-year battle of the American and National leagues: the Major League Baseball All-Star game. But does every player who made the All-Star team deserve to be there? According to a statistical analysis by Furman math professors John Harris, Kevin Hutson and Liz Bouzarth, some do and some don’t. And there were some who should have made the team but didn’t. The Furman professors joined another colleague to write an article for the Huffington Post that looked at the hard numbers.
