Sanford’s political comeback

As political rehabilitations go, few can match what happened to Mark Sanford on Tuesday night. The former South Carolina governor, who admitted to an extramarital affair while in office, is now headed to Congress. Sanford defeated Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. The victory by Sanford, who graduated from Furman in 1983 with a degree in economics and business administration, made news around the country.
