Psychology update, fall 2012

Last updated October 18, 2012

By Furman News

Few psychology programs in the country provide as many diverse research and internship experiences for its students as Furman’s. During the summer of 2012 19 students conducted research with faculty members on campus, and six conducted research at labs across the world (including Washington University in St. Louis, University of London and the University of Chicago). Fourteen of our students were involved in internships, and three engaged in psychology-related work. In addition, 42 students participated in off-campus presentations of their research, and nine co-authored papers with faculty members.

Department faculty members continue to publish about their research in the best journals (25 journal articles and chapters over the last year), serve on prestigious editorial boards, and contribute in important ways to the life of the campus. All this while remaining committed to excellence in the classroom.
