Notre Dame University organist and professor of music Craig Cramer will present a concert Thursday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. in Daniel Memorial Chapel on campus.

Cramer’s concert is this year’s Belcher Organ Recital and is part of the 2012-13 Sound Quality Hartness Organ Series. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.

Performed on the 42-stop, three keyboard Hartness Organ, Cramer’s program blends standard and non-traditional repertory, including Fouchard’s evocative “Le Mystère de Nöel.”

Cramer is a highly regarded and widely traveled organ recitalist, performing at universities and churches throughout the United States and Europe. A Notre Dame faculty member since 1981, Cramer is a graduate of Westminster Choir College, and holds a master’s and a doctorate in organ performance from the Eastman School of Music.

The Hartness Organ was built in 2003 by pre-eminent organ builder C.B. Fisk of Gloucester, Mass. Since its inauguration in April 2004, the organ has been heard in recitals by leading organists across America and Europe. It is also heard in numerous choral and instrumental concerts, including Furman’s annual Service of Lessons and Carols.

The Belcher Organ Recital is named in honor of Posey and Jean Orr Belcher and made possible by an endowment created by the Belcher children.
