Riley Institute project a hit in Charleston
As part of a project sponsored by the Riley Institute at Furman, the Lowcountry South Carolina Diversity Leaders Initiative class brought together students from two high schools for a day of exploring Bull’s Island and getting to know one another. According to an article in the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier, the “teenagers from the high-poverty school downtown and the high-achieving school in Mount Pleasant were acting like BFFs, belting out the lyrics to popular songs, talking about prom and cutting up.”
