Please plan to arrive during the New Student Move-in time block you selected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Please note: Students involved with institutionally approved early arrival groups received move-in instructions from Housing and Residence Life. If you have questions about this process, please contact\u00a0<\/i><a id=\"OWA25705af0-131b-7f58-a8ae-c70bb2720ed2\" class=\"x_OWAAutoLink\" title=\"mailto:HousingandResidenceLife@Furman.Edu\" href=\"mailto:HousingandResidenceLife@Furman.Edu\" data-linkindex=\"1\"><i><u>HousingandResidenceLife@furman.edu<\/u><\/i><\/a><i>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Freshmen will check-in at their residence hall, on their assigned floor, where you will receive your keys, orientation name tag, and additional important information. Once your check-in is complete and your car is unloaded, you may take as much time as you need to get unpacked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">When you arrive on campus, follow the signs to your building:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\"><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">South Housing (SOHO) Residence Halls<\/b>\u00a0are Blackwell, Geer, Manly, McGlothlin, and Poteat.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\"><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Clark Murphy Complex (CMC) Residence Halls<\/b> are Chiles, Gambrell, Haynsworth, Judson, McBee, Ramsay, and Townes. <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Transfer students assigned to CMC will check-in at the Judson Hall RA Office.<\/span><\/li>\n<li role=\"presentation\"><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">North Village<\/b> check-in will occur at North Village J 100.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will be able to unload your vehicle near your residence hall.\u00a0A team of housing student staff members and orientation leaders will be available to assist you.\u00a0<u>Once your car is unloaded, please move your vehicle to the appropriate parking lot.<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We ask that you review and complete the following, to ensure a smooth move-in experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please clearly label all your personal items with your\u00a0<u>first and last name, building, and room number.<\/u>\u00a0This will help us make sure everything gets to the right location. EVERYTHING should be labeled!<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you know your housing assignment.\u00a0Please go to your Housing Self-Service Portal to see your assignment details.\u00a0If you have any questions about your housing assignment, please contact the Housing and Residence Life Office at\u00a0<span role=\"presentation\"><a id=\"OWA9a207266-5491-60a1-084f-1b09cfd30f57\" class=\"x_OWAAutoLink\" title=\"mailto:HousingandResidenceLife@Furman.Edu\" href=\"mailto:HousingandResidenceLife@Furman.Edu\" data-linkindex=\"2\"><u>HousingandResidenceLife@furman.edu<\/u><\/a><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Students are advised against bringing additional furniture, as each student will have a closet or wardrobe, desk, dresser, mini fridge, microwave, and bed provided in the room.<\/span><\/li>\n<li role=\"presentation\"><a id=\"OWA71dd7935-364a-5804-e7c1-9f6bdbe9d5d9\" class=\"x_OWAAutoLink\" title=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/campus-life\/housing-residence-life\/residences\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/campus-life\/housing-residence-life\/residences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"3\"><u data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Click here<\/u><\/a>\u00a0to view specific information about each residence hall.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Commuter Student Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you will be commuting to campus this year, you should still plan on participating in Fall Orientation activities!\u00a0\u00a0<b>There is a commuter student meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 20 at 3:00 p.m. in Burgiss Theater,\u00a0<\/b>which is located on the second level of the Trone Student Center. Following the commuter student meeting is the first orientation group meeting, and then you are invited to join us for dinner on campus. Orientation leaders will be available to review the Fall O schedule and answer any questions you may have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fall Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">A wide variety of orientation programs will begin on August 20 and take place through the start of the fall semester. Whether you are a residential or commuting student, or a first-year or transfer student, Fall Orientation is designed to give you a starting point for how to best navigate life at Furman.
