Mark your calendar:\u00a0<\/strong>New student move-in day is August 20!<\/p>\n

Please note, students who are institutionally approved for early arrival (such as in-season athletes, international students, and students participating in the marching band) will receive specific move-in instructions from Housing and Residence Life later this month. If you have questions about this process, please contact housingandresidencelife@furman.edu.<\/em><\/p>\n

Beginning at 9 a.m. EDT on Thursday, July 16,\u00a0<\/strong>you will be able to sign up for a check-in time on move-in day. Please follow the steps below to do this. You will not be able to complete this before July 16.<\/p>\n

  1. Log in to your Housing Self-Service Portal<\/li>\n
  2. Locate the New Student Check-in banner at the bottom of the screen<\/li>\n
  3. Select a time block<\/li>\n
  4. Click Update My Time<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You may edit your check-in time block in your Housing Self-Service Portal through Thursday, July 30. Time blocks are subject to availability.<\/p>\n

    In early August you will receive an additional message with more detailed move-in day instructions.<\/p>\n

    Furman Student ID Card<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Most of you received your Furman student ID card during Summer Orientation –\u00a0don’t forget to bring it with you!<\/strong> Your Furman student ID card is used not only for identification, but also for the administration of meals, door access to your residence hall and other buildings on campus, library loan, and admission to various campus events.<\/p>\n

    If you did not attend Summer Orientation or did not receive your ID during orientation, please look for your student ID in the mail later this month. International students will receive their student ID upon arriving on campus in August.<\/p>\n

    Fall Orientation schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n

    We will have a variety of Fall Orientation programs and events scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 20, and continuing through the start of the fall semester. New student orientation will officially kick off with a welcome celebration on Friday, August 21 at 10:15 a.m. Parents and families are invited to attend with you. Note that there is also specific information included on this website for commuting students and international students.<\/p>\n
