We have several Parent and Family Orientation activities available to you this summer, as well. For the most updated information, please refer to the New Student Orientation website<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In-Person Summer Orientation Program<\/strong><\/p>\n We will be offering an in-person Parent and Family Orientation program, taking place concurrently to your student\u2019s Summer Orientation experience. The $75 registration fee covers your student and one parent\/guest, additional guests can be registered for $30 per person.<\/p>\n Orientation dates, a tentative schedule, and the link for your student to register can be found on the Summer Orientation website<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n New@FU<\/strong><\/p>\n We are excited to introduce your student to New@FU<\/a>, Furman\u2019s interactive online platform designed to assist with your student\u2019s transition to college.<\/p>\n New@FU<\/a> has seven sections that will introduce your student to various aspects of life at Furman, highlight support services and resources available to students, and outline expectations of all Furman students. The platform is designed for students to navigate through at their own pace. In total, it will take about 1-2 hours to complete, but does not need to be completed in one sitting. We ask that students complete the platform by June 1, in preparation for attending Summer Orientation or participating in a virtual advising appointment.<\/p>\n The final section includes a checklist of tasks that students are required to complete. Students must navigate through the first six sections of the portal before they will be able to access the checklist and instructions for completing these tasks.<\/p>\n Parents are invited to view the New@FU<\/a>, as well, by using the \u201cGuest Log In\u201d feature.<\/p>\n For more information about New@FU, please visit the New Students website<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Family Information Form<\/strong><\/p>\n Throughout the year, parents\/guardians can receive a series of emails with specific parent news and updates about happenings on campus. Accordingly, it is important that we have your current email address(es). If you haven\u2019t already, please review the Furman Parents website<\/a> and complete the Family Information Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Please check the New Students website<\/a> frequently, for updates and additional parent and family orientation opportunities.
