Through a competitive renewal, Furman has received a third 5-year award from the NIH INBRE mechanism. This award (SC\u00a0INBRE 3) provides a minimum\u00a0of 5 (five) NIH INBRE Faculty Fellow awards each summer (2016-2020) to Furman investigators including\u00a0each of\u00a0the following components:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. $6,000 summer research stipend for the faculty mentor<\/li>\n
  2. $4,500 in summer salary for each undergraduate research student (paid as salary; FICA\/taxes withheld)<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. $2,000 in research supplies support for each undergraduate research student<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Any faculty member is eligible to apply, provided their research efforts are in the general domain of biomedical science and amenable to potential NIH or NSF funding. Applicants will submit a 4-page Proposal Narrative (in addition to budget, submission plan and NIH Biographical Sketch).<\/p>\n

    Proposals must be submitted electronically to the Office of Integrative Research in the Sciences<\/a> by Friday January 10, 2020, with funding decisions anticipated by March\u00a0 2020.<\/p>\n
