The Center for Community Health Conversations<\/strong> is dedicated to fostering dialogue and engagement around key health issues. <\/span><\/p>\n

Through public forums, workshops and collaborative discussions, we engage students, community members, professionals and policymakers in meaningful conversations about health challenges and opportunities. Our goal is to create a space for shared learning and co-creation of solutions that are both relevant and impactful.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’re excited to host a variety of events at Furman University and in the community throughout the year, including:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Community Health Forum<\/h3>\n

IACH hosted a special two-day professional development opportunity, “Building Brighter Tomorrows Through Community Health Innovations,”<\/strong> in February 2025 at Furman’s Younts Conference Center, a partnership between IACH and the Institute for Child Success<\/a> (ICS).\u00a0 This event brought together experts, community leaders and engaged citizens to discuss innovative solutions, share knowledge and collaborate for a healthier future in upstate South Carolina.\u00a0 We’re already planning our program for 2026!\u00a0 Email IACH@furman.edu to be added to our mailing list for next year’s event.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

IACH Community Health Conversations<\/h3>\n

Launched in 2024, our Community Health Conversation Series<\/em> is designed to advance meaningful dialogue around the social and structural drivers of health. Each session features a moderated panel discussion that brings together voices from both the community and academia to explore timely and pressing health topics\u2014from economic mobility and housing insecurity to social connection and public health equity. Hosted at the Crescent Innovation District, these free evening events create a space for collaborative learning, shared perspectives, and actionable insight into the complex factors that shape community health.<\/p>\n

2025\u20132026 Series Theme: Building Resilient Communities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This year, our conversations are centered around the theme Building Resilient Communities<\/em>. From economic opportunity to social infrastructure, we\u2019re examining what it takes to build stronger, healthier communities that can adapt and thrive.<\/p>\n
