{"id":8,"date":"2019-12-02T20:21:13","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T20:21:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/grants-research-adminstration\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2022-10-25T20:36:31","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T20:36:31","slug":"cost-principles","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/grants-research-adminstration\/cost-principles\/","title":{"rendered":"Cost Principles"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Principal Investigators Receiving Federal Research Funds are Required to Adhere to the Following Grants Management Guidelines:<\/h3>\n<p>On December 26, 2013, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (also known as the \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecfr.gov\/cgi-bin\/text-idx?tpl=\/ecfrbrowse\/Title02\/2cfr200_main_02.tpl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Uniform Guidance\u201d or 2 CFR200 <\/a>). The Uniform Guidance consolidates, streamlines and supersedes the eight existing OMB Circulars including Circular A-21, A-110, and A-133. Included in this new guidance are definitions, uniform administrative requirements (pre-award &amp; post-award), cost principles and audit requirements. The new guidance, which affects all federally funded grants and contracts, took effect on <strong>December 26, 2014<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, through June 30, 2025, Furman University&#8217;s on-campus indirect cost rate (F&amp;A) is 45.88% of all DIRECT COSTS, excluding capital expenditures and sub-awards. The University capital expenditure threshold is $5,000. Furman&#8217;s off-campus rate, if the research or project will take place off-campus, is 21.74%.
