Furman University requires that the completion certificate from CITI be printed out or saved as a PDF and sent directly to the Grants Administration Office where it will be entered into a database and filed appropriately for compliance (see CITI instructions). A copy of this certificate should be maintained by the individual completing the training and the PI.\u00a0 To maintain certification, these courses are required to be renewed every four years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructio<\/strong><strong>ns on how to complete a CITI training course:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CITI website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the opening screen, select \u201cRegister\u201d followed by \u201cSelect Your Organization Affiliation\u201d button and entering the name Furman University (Step 1).<\/li>\n<li>Continue to Step 2, where you will enter your name (please use your legal name) and Furman email address.<\/li>\n<li>Continue through the registration process, answering only those questions denoted by an asterisk (e.g., \u201cemployee id number\u201d etc. does NOT have to be provided).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you are registered, you will be able to enroll in any of the courses that you need\/want to take. The courses are made up of modules. You may complete a single module at a time and repeat any module. Once you complete a course, you will be able to print out a certificate for that course. You will also be able to revisit completed modules or take elective\/optional modules.<\/p>\n<p>Course enrollment is accomplished by answering the following \u2018questions.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Question 1<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Human Subjects Research<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Question 2<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Responsible Conduct of Research<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em><strong>Question 3<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Would you like to take the Conflicts of Interest course?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Question 4<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Public Health Research<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Question 5<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Facilitator Guides<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Question 6<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Research Security<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Please be sure that you complete the correct course for the training required.
