How will these be enforced?<\/li>\n<li>Describe your plan for managing snacks and water breaks outside of the meals in the Dining Hall (e.g., distancing when masks are removed, plan to serve individually). Summer Programs will provide guidance on meal protocols in the Dining Hall.<\/li>\n<li>Describe your plan for screening all staff and participants daily.<\/li>\n<li>Describe your plan for transporting individuals, when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Describe your plan for supervising any symptomatic or exposed individuals.<\/li>\n<li>Describe your plan for supervising the program if one or more staff must be isolated or quarantined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wysiwyg_block\">\n<div class=\"wysiwyg_block__content wysiwyg\">\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must submit the following documentation for each participant and staff member to Summer Programs no later than 48 hours prior to arrival.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/183\/2021\/06\/2021.06.15-Summer-Camp-Assumption-of-Risk-and-Release-Agreement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Summer Camp Assumption of Risk and Release Agreement \u2013 under 18 [PDF]<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/183\/2021\/06\/2021.06.15-Conference-and-Events-Assumption-of-Risk-and-Release-Agreement.pdf\">Conference and Events Assumption of Risk and Release Agreement \u2013 18 and over [PDF]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR negative COVID-19 test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must collect and maintain the following documentation for each participant and staff member.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/183\/2021\/05\/Patient-Demographics-118947.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PRISMA Health Patient Information [PDF]<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/183\/2021\/05\/Permission-to-Treat-M10029-11.20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PRISMA Health Permission to Treat [PDF]<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/183\/2021\/05\/Authorization-for-Disclosure-of-Medical-Information-107949.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PRISMA Health Authorization for Disclosure of Medical Information [PDF]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must provide face coverings to all participants and staff, and require individuals to wear them at all times indoors unless eating or drinking, participating in aerobic activity, or when in their assigned campus housing room\/apartment with the door closed. Face coverings must be replaced with a clean\/dry mask whenever they get wet or soiled.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must require all participants and staff to provide EITHER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li>Proof (hard copy) of completed vaccination (e.g., two weeks after receiving both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or one dose of Johnson &amp; Johnson);<br \/>\nOR<\/li>\n<li>Proof of a negative nucleic amplification-based molecular diagnostic test for SARS-CoV-2 (RT-PCR or NAAT <strong>administered no sooner than 5 days prior to arrival to campus<\/strong>. A rapid antigen test will not be accepted. SC DHEC offers <a href=\"https:\/\/scdhec.gov\/covid19\/covid-19-testing-locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free clinics<\/a> near the campus frequently providing a 24-hour turnaround for results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must structure their program to maintain physical distancing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li>Physical distancing provides protection by reducing risk of exposure and limiting the number of close contacts when someone is infected with COVID-19.<\/li>\n<li>Establish program policies and implement strategies to promote physical distancing, indoors and outdoors, of\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li>At least 3 feet between all participants within a pod<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 feet between all participants outside of their pod<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 feet while eating and drinking, including among individuals within the same pod<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 feet between participants and staff<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 feet between staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must structure the camp or conference to minimize close contacts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li>Pods are groups of participants and staff that stay together throughout the day to minimize exposure to other people while at camp. The recommended pod size is four individuals.<\/li>\n<li>Pods should have the same staff stay with the same group of participants and remain together as much as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Pods should include roommates.<\/li>\n<li>Limit mixing between pods.<\/li>\n<li>Pods should not replace other prevention measures, including wearing masks.<\/li>\n<li>Participants and staff in the same cohort should continue to wear masks at all times, except when outdoors, participating in indoor aerobic activity, or eating and drinking.<\/li>\n<li>Programs that serve younger and older children should consider creating pods with participants who are similar in age.<\/li>\n<li>When developing pods, consider services for participants with disabilities, English language learners, and other participants who may receive services, and to ensure equity, integration, and other requirements of civil rights laws, including federal disability laws.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators must review and be familiar with all sections of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/summer-2021-planning\/summer-camps-conferences\/\">Furman Focused Camps &amp; Conferences website<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li>All participants and staff must follow all guidance and signage on campus.<\/li>\n<li>All participants and staff must screen for the following symptoms on a daily basis, and immediately report any symptoms to their program coordinator. Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/summer-2021-planning\/covid-procedures-symptomatic-exposed-participants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID Procedures for Symptomatic or Exposed Participants<\/a>.\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1;\">\n<li>Fever of 100.4\u02da or higher<\/li>\n<li>Chills<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty breathing\/shortness of breath<\/li>\n<li>Body ache<\/li>\n<li>New or persistent cough<\/li>\n<li>Loss of taste or smell<\/li>\n<li>Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program coordinators, staff and participants must adhere to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-focused\/summer-2021-planning\/covid-procedures-symptomatic-exposed-participants\/\">COVID Procedures for Symptomatic or Exposed Participants.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unvaccinated participants or staff living in campus housing for more than seven days are required to be tested on a weekly basis. Any testing is at the expense of the program or participant. SC DHEC offers <a href=\"https:\/\/scdhec.gov\/covid19\/covid-19-testing-locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free clinics<\/a> near the campus frequently providing a 24-hour turnaround for results.<\/p>\n<p>No outside food is permitted. All meals must be consumed at the Dining Hall, or catered through Bon Appetit.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever there is an option, engaging in outdoor activities is preferred.<\/p>\n<p>Participants may be sent home without any refunds for failing to comply with these guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Any camp or conference may be canceled or modified due to COVID-19, and no refunds will be issued due to this risk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Field Trips and Off-Campus Engagement<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Any off-campus field trips and engagement associated with a 2021 camp or conference must be approved by Summer Programs at least 1 week (7 days) prior to start date of the camp. Approval is contingent on Campus and Community conditions and the activity proposed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Off-Campus Engagement<\/h3>\n<p>Camps and conferences organizers are able plan for off-campus excursions that support their programs.\u00a0 To minimize the risk to the participants, Furman and Greenville communities as much possible, we recommend\u00a0 the following guidelines and precautions:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1 !important;\">\n<li>As much as possible, maintain small pods of close contacts, and avoid large gatherings, large tables, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to physical distancing and masking requirements while off campus in large public venues.<\/li>\n<li>When traveling in vehicles with others, wear face coverings in accordance with CDC guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Do not plan any indoor, off-campus dining.<\/li>\n<li>Frequent handwashing or sanitizing is recommended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Camp-Sponsored Field Trips and Community Activities<\/h3>\n<p>Counselors and coaches leading these camp groups should serve as the responsible party described in the protocol and must be aware of the off-campus engagement guidelines.\u00a0 <strong>If participants travel off campus to participate in a Summer Programs related activity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1 !important;\">\n<li>Masking should be maintained at all times during travel.<\/li>\n<li>Following current CDC guidance, if several students and faculty\/staff are traveling to the same location, travel should take place in a van or vehicle sufficiently large such that physical distancing (6\u2019) between participants can be maintained. See exception in the next bullet.<\/li>\n<li>Participants who are roommates, or who are in a pod, are able to travel together while masked without maintaining physical distancing of 6 feet. However, <strong>pods cannot exceed 4 individuals and must remain consistent throughout the course\/activity, unless CDC guidance changes.<\/strong> In other words, the same group of four participants or fewer must travel together for the duration of the course\/project\/experience, and pods should not be mixed. <strong>Direct oversight of this is required<\/strong>. Note that if one person in a pod tests positive and other members of the pod are not vaccinated, then all such members are required to quarantine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Transportation Services<\/h2>\n<p>Any camp or conference shuttle must operate with the following protocols:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"column-count: 1 !important;\">\n<li>Shuttle driver(s) are required to wear face coverings and enforce physical distancing inside vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Riders are required to wear face coverings<\/li>\n<li>Touch surfaces are disinfected daily and as needed during operation:<\/li>\n<li>Drivers wipe common touch surfaces during shift.<\/li>\n<li>The shuttle is disinfected daily.<\/li>\n<li>Passenger density adheres to limited or staggered seating.<\/li>\n<li>The total number of riders is limited by physical distancing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The university will closely monitor the evolving circumstances related to COVID-19, along with rapidly developing scientific knowledge and medical resources, to determine the appropriateness for adjustments and contingencies. <strong>For general questions about the spring semester, please email <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"mailto:furman.focused@furman.edu\"><strong><em>furman.focused@furman.edu<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each program must have a written COVID-19 compliance plan specific to their operations and shared with Summer Programs no later than 48 hours prior to the start date.
