Furman is following the guidance provided by recognized national, state, and local clinical and public health experts in requiring COVID-19 vaccination and boosters, as well as testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus when appropriate.<\/p>\n<h2>COVID Vaccinations and Boosters<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Furman University requires all students to be immunized against COVID-19<\/strong>.\u00a0The university also requires all <strong><u>eligible <\/u><\/strong><strong>students not previously exempted to obtain a booster vaccination no later than Jan. 11, 2022.\u00a0<\/strong>(Per CDC recommendations, boosters should be obtained six months after receiving a second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or two months after the J&amp;J vaccine. For those students who do not yet meet these criteria, a booster should be obtained within two weeks of the date of eligibility.)<\/p>\n<p>Once boosted, students must submit a copy of their vaccination card to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:furmanstudenthealth@PrismaHealth.org\">furmanstudenthealth@PrismaHealth.org<\/a>. A simple photo of the card attached to an email will suffice.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to be immunized against COVID-19 and to receive the booster vaccination when eligible.
