As a Division I program, Furman Athletics must adhere to NCAA policies, including the NCAA Core Principles of Resocialization of Collegiate Sport<\/a> regarding COVID-19 policies and procedures, which serves as a guide to Furman Athletics\u2019 phased approach to returning.<\/p>\n These policies include enhanced COVID-19 testing protocols for student-athletes and athletic staff. Student-athletes and select staff are tested at differing intervals as guided by NCAA\/SoCon; sports that are actively \u201cin season\u201d are tested more regularly.\u00a0 For example, currently all members of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball are tested 3X per week. \u00a0In addition, student-athletes are included in the weekly surveillance monitoring testing conducted by Furman, and thus are ultimately evaluated at a much higher rate than the campus population as a whole.<\/p>\n Student-athletes are also subject to daily health screenings and temperature checks before all activities. Each team is supervised and monitored by Furman Athletics\u2019 Sports Medicine Center and medical staff. These protocols, trainings and practices are closely supervised by coaches, administrators and Sports Medicine staff, and help to protect the health and safety of our student-athletes, as well as our coaching staff and campus community.<\/p>\n Plans are currently in place for all 18 of Furman\u2019s intercollegiate sports to compete this spring.\u00a0 Schedules are subject to change due to various factors affecting both our teams and our opponents.\u00a0 Please check our website at www.furmanpaladins.com<\/a> for the latest schedules for each sport.<\/p>\n Concessions and Catering will follow all guidelines for food service as directed by the SC Restaurant Association, DHEC, and Bon Appetit.<\/p>\n Venues will be sanitized prior to each contest.
