Please note that these standards also apply to most Furman scholarships and grants and follow the same evaluation process and timeline. At Furman, satisfactory academic progress is comprised of three standards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cumulative GPA: A student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) that is consistent with graduation requirements<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative Pace: A student must demonstrate that they are making progress toward the completion of their degree by earning a minimum number of credits hours each semester<\/li>\n<li>Maximum Timeframe: A student must complete their degree within a specified period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All students are evaluated at the end of each academic period. Federal\/state aid programs impacted by these criteria include the following:<br \/>\n\u2022 Federal Pell Grant<br \/>\n\u2022 Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)<br \/>\n\u2022 Federal Work-Study, Federal Direct Subsidized Loan<br \/>\n\u2022 Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan<br \/>\n\u2022 Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan<br \/>\n\u2022 Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan (graduate students)<br \/>\n\u2022 South Carolina Tuition Grant (state aid)<\/p>\n<p>Students enrolled in either the undergraduate or graduate program will be evaluated with the exception of the following:\u00a0 Exchanges students (to Furman), International students, and Non-Degree seeking students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Federal regulations require Furman to establish minimum standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for students who receive and apply for financial aid.
