\"\"You may have noticed it walking to class, at a recent visit to the library porch, or trying to get a soft serve ice cream cone at the DH\u2014our students are back and bringing with them all the energy and wonder (yes, wonder!) of a new school year. The FDC is embracing our recent collective growth in student enrollment and our large new faculty class with this year\u2019s theme: Guided by Growth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are excited to continue our partnership with you,\u00a0faculty\u00a0and academic staff, in our programs, consultations, and coaching.\u00a0\u00a0You\u2019ll find familiar events\u2014<\/span>reading circles<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Write Now!<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>AI in Action<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Small Group Instructional Feedback<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 and workshops\u2014as well as some new opportunities to grow your teaching with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (with our easy to use\u00a0<\/span>Umbrella IRB<\/span><\/a>),\u00a0 joining a Community of Practice informed by the\u00a0<\/span>ASCEND student feedback tool<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(contact Stephanie Freis for more intel), and guiding writing growth ethically with\u00a0<\/span>Boodlebox.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 We also have reimagined signature gatherings to encourage engagement\u2014most notably, the\u00a0<\/span>Learning Exchange<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(formerly held on Spring Study Day) will be Wednesday, December 9<\/span>th.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Join us to reflect,\u00a0<\/span>celebrate, and learn from one another how\u00a0we’ve\u00a0been guided by growth this semester with a playful bingo game. Plant-forward prizes are yours to win. \ud83c\udf31<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our\u00a0<\/span>fall programming summary<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has landed in your break rooms and departmental offices this week; we also have new evergreen magnets that link to our offerings\u2014check your departmental mailbox for\u00a0yours.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  2. In what ways have I designed my weekly rhythms to support my own growth in current roles (teacher, scholar, leader, family member, human)? What does my progress\u2014including intentional pauses–look or feel like?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. In what ways do I want to grow in\u00a0community\u00a0this semester?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
